As a ProShow supervisor, you are a role model for all our event staffers, and the person who reports directly to the ProShow manager; as such you are an integral part of the ProShow Team.  You will attend the kick off meeting, you will be oriented re ProShow expectations, and you will communicate effectively within the team.  ProShow places a major emphasis on each of our team members, especially supervisors who are new to us.  We appreciate that new supervisors invest in ProShow as well since our brand is affected in positive ways from supervisors who excel in their role within our team.

 

You must set an example for your team of staffers. This means you must be punctual, be in dress code, follow instructions, have a great attitude, and smile all day long.

 

The first day of the show, talk to your staff and let them know what your expectations are of each individual. Set the tone and reinforce what you will and will not accept regarding dress code, punctuality, performance, and attitude. Always have an objective attitude towards daily events, staying one step ahead of the clients. Troubleshoot issues; take the initiative to solve issues one on one with the event staffers.

 

It will be your responsibility to take roll in your area each day. You are also responsible to ensure that each staff person gets a break and/or lunch. Give breaks during slow times or when there is at least one person per area. Circle your area continually to ensure everything is running smoothly and all the event staffers are happily working.

 

Be a cheerleader for your group! Demonstrate enthusiasm, motivate your team to be the best at the show. By doing this you will create a team spirit. Encourage your team to have fun and smile.

 

On a daily basis, discuss overall staffing with the ProShow manager to ensure any and all issues are solved. Let the manager know of any concerns you may have.

 

Complete a performance appraisal on each person in your group. Your feed back is very important, so please rate each individual honestly and accurately. By doing so you will help build ProShow’s convention team.
