Swiss Lathe Programmer

Located in Sarasota, FL

Salary: $25-$32/hour

We are working with a family-owned manufacturing company hiring an experienced Swiss Lathe Programmer to support precision manufacturing, improve production efficiency, and assist with daily shop operations. This role requires strong CNC programming expertise and the ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment, supporting both programming and shop floor needs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain CNC programs using engineering prints and 3D part models
• Optimize cycle times while maintaining high-quality standards
• Convert and adapt existing programs across multiple machine platforms
• Improve program organization and file management systems
• Select and source tooling to maximize quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
• Support operators by troubleshooting production issues

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform machine setups and first-piece inspections as needed
• Serve as a backup operator to support production demands
• Troubleshoot machine issues and perform basic maintenance
• Assist with tooling evaluation, standardization, purchasing, and inventory

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Swiss lathe programming experience (10+ preferred)
• Strong proficiency in G-code and M-code programming
• Experience with CAM software (Fusion 360 preferred)
• Hands-on experience with Swiss-style lathes
• Experience machining a variety of materials
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a production environment

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

Pay Rate: $25-$32+/hour
