On Call Food Van Driver

Located in Bremerton, WA

Salary: $17.13

Overview:  We are seeking a reliable, community-minded On-Call Delivery Driver to support Meals on Wheels. In this role, you will help ensure that nutritious meals and essential supplies reach local dining sites and homebound persons throughout Kitsap County. This position is ideal for someone who values meaningful work, enjoys being on the road, and can be available with short notice.

 

JOB DUTIES:

May include but not limited to the following:

• Transport meals, food items, and supplies by van to designated meal sites and homebound clients across Kitsap County
• Deliver records, messages, and donations between meal sites and the Meals on Wheels Kitsap office
• Perform basic wellness checks on meal recipients as needed
• Report any concerns or unusual observations promptly to Meals on Wheels staff
• Assisting dinig stie staff with meal service tasks as requested
• Provide courteous, respectful interaction with clients, volunteers, and staff
• Monitor vehicle condition and report maintenance needs (fuel, oil, battery, coolant, tire pressure, etc.)
• Follow all job safety requirements and applicable OSHA standards

Requirements:

• Valid Washington State Driver’s License
• Personal auto liability insurance
• Satisfactory driving record with no moving violations in the past three years
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted; heavier items with assistance
• Food Handler’s Permit
• Ability to pass background check
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding clients, staff, volunteers, and organizational operations

Pay: $17.13/hour

Schedule: On-call/As-needed
