This company is growing and looking for an experienced, people-focused HR Generalist to join their team and support our mission-driven workforce.

 

 

Responsibilities:
• Administer day-to-day HR operations, including maintaining accurate employee
records, processing updates, and supporting HR reporting.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with integrity,
professionalism, and sound judgment.
• Demonstrate a high level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism in all
interactions.
• Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries related to policies, benefits,
procedures, and general HR guidance.
• Support payroll and benefits administration in coordination with finance teams,
external payroll providers, and contracted HR services.
• Support full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening,
interview coordination, and hiring support.
• Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding to ensure a smooth, compliant, and
engaging employee experience.
• Support internships, apprenticeships, work-study programs, and workforce
development partnerships aligned with long-term talent needs.
• Build and maintain relationships within the local community, representing
programs and initiatives to support recruitment pipelines and strategic partnerships
aligned with company goals.
• Support company Gateway employees through contracted HR and payroll services,
including onboarding, payroll administration, compliance support, benefits
coordination, and day-to-day employee assistance.
• Serve as a liaison between Gateway employees, contracted service providers, and
internal stakeholders to ensure consistent employee support.
• Address employee relations matters with discretion, professionalism, and
consistency, escalating issues as appropriate.
• Coach, counsel, train, and support employees and leaders to improve performance,
develop skills, and resolve workplace concerns.
• Work effectively with employees of varying skill levels and abilities, adapting
communication and approach based on individual needs.
• Support performance review processes, employee development initiatives, and
ongoing feedback practices.
• Support and coordinate company training initiatives to ensure alignment with
organizational goals, operational needs, and compliance requirements.
• Partner with leaders to support training execution, track participation and
effectiveness, and make adjustments as needed to improve outcomes.

• Support continuous improvement of training processes to ensure programs remain
relevant, effective, and aligned with business priorities.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and ensure
alignment with company policies and procedures.
• Participate in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR
policies, programs, and documentation.
• Support risk mitigation efforts by promoting consistent HR practices, training, and
documentation.

• Act as a change leader by identifying opportunities for improvement, implementing
solutions, and continuing to refine processes over time.
• Support quality and continuous improvement initiatives by assisting with tracking
and addressing internal and external issues related to training, performance, or
employee support.
• Provide HR input and support for manufacturing and operational initiatives as needed
to achieve company objectives.
• Participate in cross-functional projects, including lean initiatives, continuous
improvement efforts, quality activities, and workforce-related analyses.
• Commit to continuous learning and personal development while supporting the
growth and development of others.
• Perform related duties and participate in special projects as required.

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field,
or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
• Knowledge of where to find information related to state, and local employment laws
and HR compliance requirements, with experience supporting California-based
employees preferred.
• Experience supporting core HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding,
employee relations, benefits administration, and HR operations.
• Experience coordinating or supporting training initiatives, including tracking
participation, supporting execution, and making adjustments based on business
needs.
• Ability to work effectively with employees at varying levels of skill, experience, and
ability, adapting communication and approach as needed.
• Experience supporting or partnering with payroll and benefits providers, internal
finance teams, or contracted HR services.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to
handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
• Demonstrated ability to support continuous improvement efforts and work
effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• Comfort working in a manufacturing or operational setting, supporting both hourly
and salaried employees.
• Proficiency with HR systems, Microsoft Office tools, and general business
technology.
• High level of integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to confidentiality.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, support cross-functional projects, and adjust to
changing business needs.
