CNC Machinist – Advanced Multi-Axis & Automation

Location: Vancouver, WA
Shift: Day shift 6:30am-5:00pm
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist who can independently set up, program, and operate CNC machines with minimal supervision. This role is ideal for a machinist who thrives in a modern, automated manufacturing environment and takes ownership of quality, productivity, and uptime.

The successful candidate will work across a wide range of machining platforms, including advanced mill and lathe configurations, and will play a key role in managing an automated horizontal mill cell running unattended overnight production.


Key Responsibilities

  • Independently set up and operate CNC machines with little or no assistance
  • Run CNC Vertical and Horizontal Mills, Swiss-Style machines, Dual Spindle/Dual Turret lathes, and 2-Axis lathes
  • Manage and maintain a 4-axis horizontal mill cell with 32 pallets, including unattended overnight operations
  • Program, edit, and optimize CNC code using Fusion 360 and/or Mastercam
  • Perform CAM programming, tooling selection, and fixture setup
  • Conduct quality inspections of finished parts using precision measurement tools
  • Machine a variety of materials including aluminum, stainless steel, alloy steel, brass, and plastics
  • Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, programming, materials, or equipment
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve efficiency and part quality

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist capable of working independently
  • Strong hands-on experience with horizontal machining centers and automation systems
  • Proficiency in Fusion 360 and/or Mastercam for programming and CAM
  • Solid understanding of GD&T, tolerances, and quality control practices
  • Experience machining multiple material types
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take ownership of production

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience running unattended or lights-out machining operations
  • Background in high-mix / low- to medium-volume production
  • Familiarity with pallet pool or cell-based automation systems
