Express Employment Professionals has a new opening for a delivery driver position. This is a non CDL but requires DOT Medical card. Monday - Friday. 7AM - 4PM. $23+ DOE

 

Job Summary:

As a Delivery Driver, you will play a crucial role in logistics and warehouse operations. Your primary responsibility will be to visit customer locations, collect empty pallets, and safely transport them back to the warehouse. This role demands excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to efficiently manage time and resources.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Pallet Pickup: Drive to various customer locations to retrieve empty pallets and transport them to the designated warehouse.

2. Vehicle Inspection: Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure that the delivery vehicle is in safe and working condition. Report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.

3. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all traffic and safety regulations while operating the delivery vehicle, and follow company safety procedures at all times.

4. Route Planning: Efficiently plan your routes to minimize travel time, fuel consumption, and environmental impact.

5. Customer Service: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers. Address any customer inquiries or concerns as needed.

6. Pallet Counting: Accurately count and document the number of pallets picked up from each customer location. Ensure that the count matches the customer's records.

7. Documentation: Complete and maintain delivery and pickup logs, ensuring all necessary paperwork is accurately filled out. 

8. Communication: Keep open communication with the warehouse team to coordinate pickup schedules and any unforeseen delays or issues.

9. Load and Unload: Safely load and unload pallets from the delivery vehicle. Use appropriate equipment or manual handling techniques as required.

10. Vehicle Maintenance: Keep the delivery vehicle clean and well-maintained. Report any maintenance issues promptly.

11. Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to any emergencies or accidents according to company procedures.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of safe driving practices and traffic laws.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate pallet counting and documentation.
• Ability to operate delivery vehicles and equipment safely.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy pallets.
• Dependability and punctuality.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus.

Working Conditions:

• This role involves significant time spent driving and working outdoors.
• Pallet Pickup Drivers may need to work in various weather conditions.
• Some lifting, bending, and physical exertion will be required when loading and unloading pallets.
• Flexible hours may be necessary to accommodate customer schedules or special requests.
