Small Engine Mechanic

Key Responsibilities

• Inspection and Diagnosis: inspect equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and fuel system problems. They use various tools and diagnostic equipment to determine the source of issues.
• Repair and Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on small engines, which may include replacing parts, adjusting components, and conducting tune-ups. They may also work on more complex repairs that require disassembling engines.
• Preventive Maintenance: Establish and maintain a preventive maintenance program for equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to explain repair estimates, costs, and necessary maintenance procedures. Provide recommendations based on the condition of the equipment.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance performed, and parts used. This includes establishing spare parts requirements and controlling their use.
