LOCAL CANDIDATES (WITHIN 25-MINUTE COMMUTE) WILL BE PRIORITIZED 

We are seeking a dependable and safety‑focused Foundry Operator to support foundry operations within our client's dairy manufacturing facility. This position plays a key role in producing and maintaining metal components used in food‑grade dairy processing equipment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working extended 12‑hour evening shifts beginning at 5:00 PM and thrives in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate foundry equipment including furnaces, molds, casting tools, and material handling equipment
  • Melt, pour, and finish metals according to established production and quality standards
  • Monitor furnace temperatures, material flow, and casting conditions throughout production runs
  • Perform routine equipment inspections, cleaning, and basic preventive maintenance
  • Inspect finished castings for defects and ensure compliance with quality and food‑safety requirements
  • Follow all OSHA, facility, and food‑grade safety procedures at all times
  • Accurately complete production records, safety documentation, and shift reports
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance and production teams to meet nightly production goals

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior experience in a foundry, manufacturing, or industrial environment preferred
  • Ability to work 12‑hour shifts starting at 5:00 PM, including nights, weekends, and some holidays
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a hot, physically demanding environment
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn facility‑specific processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Foundry, metal casting, or furnace operation experience
  • Experience in food‑grade or regulated manufacturing environments
  • Forklift or industrial equipment certification (or willingness to obtain)

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Evening/Night shift starting at 5:00 PM
  • 12‑hour shifts, working 4–5 days per week
  • Industrial manufacturing setting with exposure to heat, noise, and heavy equipment
