Material Handler

Located in Waunakee, WI

Salary: $22 - $25/hr

Express is seeking a material handler for a reputable metal fabrication company near Waunakee! 

 

Under the supervision of the Paint Supervisor and Shop Supervisor, the Material Handler maintains product by moving materials, either manually or using equipment such as trucks or forklifts. The Material Handler performs a variety of tasks including staging, loading, and offloading products.    

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, placing and recording materials and supplies in stock.

• Locates materials and supplies by pulling, verifying materials/supplies listed on work orders.

• Works closely with Purchasing Department to help establish, order and maintain approved stock quantities.

• Understand functions and operations of saws and iron worker.

• Visual inspection of final product for conformance to established quality standards and blueprint specifications.

• Responsible for equipment maintenance, schedules and record keeping.

• Inspect, load and deliver finished product and materials to customers.

• Schedule and pick up material/supplies from local vendors.

• Operate forklifts and drive various delivery vehicles including manual transmission delivery trucks.

• Operate required hands tools.

• Responsible for maintenance of delivery vehicles through scheduling and maintaining accurate service records for each vehicle. This includes weekly safety inspection reports for each vehicle.

• Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion and conform to all quality and safety procedures.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to handle or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach above shoulders, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; talk or hear; and use foot/feet to operate machines. 

 

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  

 

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. 

 

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
