Job Summary: The Mechanical Technician is responsible for duties directly related to the fabrication and assembly of parts required to build dead-front switchgear, panelboards and electrical equipment.
Job Responsibilities/Duties: Mechanical Technician
• Responsible for assembly and installation of electrical enclosures
• Fabrication of plastic and CB supports
• Fabricates copper bus bar and assembles the entire bus system of switchboards
• May participate in job site visits to complete or to resolve issues.
• Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrates good listening skills
• Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner
• General cleaning in the area
• Obey the safety standards of TPS and follow local, state, and federal regulations
• Responsible for any other tasks that may arise, at any time
• Dimension and layout of back panels and enclosures
Work Environmental & Physical Demand:
• May stand for long periods of time with very little sit-down time.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively, as well as frequent twisting and bending, to meet fast paced work demands
• Work in various adverse conditions such as tight or enclosed spaces, heights and extreme temperatures. May work inside or outside to complete work assignments. Position requires exposure to dust and dirt.
• Follow safety standards in working with multiple services, tools and equipment.
Minimum Requirements/Experience:
• Good working knowledge of hand tools
• Must have 1 year of experience on commercial or industrial electrical projects
• Must be able to read tape measure
• Can properly use a torque wrench
• Must pass a drug screen and background check for employment
