Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a Diesel Fleet Mechanic to perform maintenance and repair operations on heavy machinery used in construction and excavation projects.

Position Details:

Type: Evaluation Hire
Schedule: Day Shift (with field response as needed)
Location: Shop based – Omaha, NE
Pay/Salary: Up to $40/hr

Job Duties:

• Perform routine preventive maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Repair and overhaul engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and related components.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately identify issues.
• Maintain detailed service and repair records for all equipment.
• Coordinate with management to order parts and maintain inventory.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in diesel mechanics preferred.
• Proven experience as a heavy equipment diesel mechanic, preferably in construction or excavation.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic diagnostic skills.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools, software, and service equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy equipment maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred) with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Subject to background check and pre-employment drug screening.
