Full time – Temp to hire

Monday thru Thursday - 6:30am to 4pm, Friday – 7am to 11am

$22hr to $26hr depending on experience.

 

A third-generation sheet metal stamping company specializing in both short-run tooling and long-term production runs is seeking a Tool & Die Maker I to join its team. The organization is known for precision manufacturing, quality craftsmanship, and a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

 

Summary: Work within the tool room team to maintain, repair, and build tooling that produces parts meeting customer specifications in a safe, accurate, and timely manner. This entry-level role is responsible for performing basic tool room operations under close supervision. The Tool & Die Maker I will follow detailed instructions to support machining, tool maintenance, and assembly processes.

 

Responsibilities:

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Study blueprints, sketches, models, and specifications to determine operational sequences.
• Assist in machining operations and tool fabrication processes.
• Perform tool disassembly, repair, and reassembly under supervision.
• File, grind, shim, and adjust tool components to ensure proper fit and function.
• Inspect completed dies for smoothness, contour accuracy, and defects.
• Smooth and polish flat and contoured surfaces using scrapers, abrasive stones, files and power grinders.
• Load materials or workpieces into machines and unload finished products and waste materials.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn tool and die processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. (preferred)
• Familiarity with hand tools and basic machining equipment. (preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision.
• Commitment to workplace safety.
