Position Overview:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Sorter to join our team at a fast-paced recycling facility. The Sorter is responsible for hand-sorting recyclable materials from a conveyor system, ensuring that the appropriate items are removed from the sorting line according to plant standards. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work on your feet for the entire shift.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stand at a designated sorting station along a conveyor line
• Hand-sort recyclables by removing contaminants or unwanted items as they pass through your area
• Follow plant safety rules and standard operating procedures
• Identify and remove items that cannot be processed by the sorting machine
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Communicate with team members and supervisors regarding issues or slowdowns
• Report any mechanical problems with equipment to a supervisor immediately

Qualifications:

• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs regularly
• Comfortable standing, bending, and reaching throughout entire shift
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, repetitive environment
• Reliable attendance and punctuality required
• Previous experience in a warehouse, recycling plant, or industrial environment is a plus, but not required
• Willingness to wear PPE and follow safety protocols at all times
