Location: Laflin

Schedule:  5–6-day work week depending on business needs. 10pm-6:30am. Overtime available on earlier shifts. Off Sundays

 

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment to ensure efficient and safe operations. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime by performing preventive maintenance and responding quickly to mechanical issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment and machinery
  • Perform preventive maintenance on production lines, bagging equipment, conveyors, and mobile equipment
  • Diagnose and repair issues involving hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, gearboxes, and mechanical systems
  • Maintain and repair rolling stock, including forklifts, skid steers, and other material handling equipment
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and manuals
  • Replace worn or defective parts and ensure proper machine function
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner to reduce production downtime
  • Maintain maintenance logs and report major issues to supervisors
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
  • Assist with installation of new equipment and upgrades as needed

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics required
  • Experience with rolling stock (forklifts, skid steers, etc.) highly preferred
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting skills are a plus
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing plant setting with exposure to dust, noise, and insulation materials
  • Indoor and outdoor work may be required
  • Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Work involves standing, climbing, bending, and working around moving machinery

Schedule:

  • Full-time; may include overtime, weekends, and on-call responsibilities depending on production needs
