Position Summary

The Conveyor Belt Technician is responsible for the custom fabrication, assembly, and repair of rubber and plastic conveyor belts, ensuring products meet strict quality and safety standards. This position supports a wide range of industries and plays a critical role in efficient production and equipment reliability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, assemble, and modify conveyor belts and related products using machinery, tools, and equipment according to established procedures.
  • Perform routine maintenance, adjustments, and troubleshooting on fabrication equipment and tools.
  • Read, interpret, and follow technical drawings, job orders, and detailed work instructions.
  • Inspect products, monitor production processes, and complete essential quality checks.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including quantities, measurements, and specifications.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to improve workflow, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Assist with new process implementation, new equipment setup, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with safety guidelines.
  • Occasionally perform offsite service work; weekend work may be required based on customer needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and solid math skills.
  • Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Experience with conveyors or conveyor systems preferred.
  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5–10 years of relevant industry experience preferred.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license required.
  • Ability to operate a lift truck.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, and safely lift over 50 lbs. as needed.
