IT System Administrator

Location: Moss Point, MS (On-site; Potential for future hybrid work)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Occasional after-hours/travel)

Role Overview

As our IT System Administrator, you will be the backbone of our digital operations. Working alongside our Managed Service Provider (MSP), you will manage core server infrastructure, ensure 99.9% uptime for our banking platforms, and defend our perimeter against sophisticated threats. We are looking for a professional who treats our members like neighbors and our data like a fortress.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Management: Maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot Windows/Linux servers, virtualized environments (VMware/Hyper-V), and storage solutions (SAN/NAS).
  • Security & Compliance: Implement and monitor security protocols aligned with NCUA or FDIC standards. Manage firewalls, endpoint protection, and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
  • Disaster Recovery: Maintain and update the "Hurricane Readiness/Disaster Recovery" IT plan. Ensure immutable backups are redundant and recovery time objectives (RTOs) are met during inclement weather or outages.
  • Vendor Relations: Coordinate and track multiple vendors and projects to ensure seamless integration and patch management.
  • End-User Support: Provide Tier 2/3 support for branch staff. This requires a patient, service-oriented attitude—our team needs to feel supported and empowered.
  • Professionalism: Exemplify the mission, vision, and service standards of the organization in all internal and external interactions.

Qualifications & Technical Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent "in-the-trenches" experience).
  • Certifications: CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are highly preferred.
  • Networking: Strong grasp of LAN/WAN, VLANs, and VPNs for secure remote work.
  • Cloud: Experience migrating or managing hybrid-cloud environments (Office 365 / Azure).
  • Interpersonal: Ability to convey complex technical issues to non-technical audiences with clarity and integrity.

Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Mobility: Ability to stand, sit, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to travel between branch locations via automobile.
  • Environment: Must be comfortable working in climate-controlled offices but also capable of climbing, crawling, or laying on surfaces to execute hardware installations.
  • Resilience: Must maintain composure under the stress of deadlines, regulatory requirements, and fast-paced troubleshooting.
