Shipping & Warehouse Clerk

Location: Long Beach, MS

Pay: $18.00/hour

Shift: Day Shift (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Status: Hourly / Non-Exempt

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping & Warehouse Clerk to join our team in Long Beach. This position is responsible for the accurate processing of outgoing shipments and the careful inspection of incoming goods. You will act as a key link in our supply chain, ensuring that every package meets our quality specifications and that all documentation—from bills of lading to inventory records—is handled with precision.

Key Responsibilities

• Shipping Coordination: Determine the most efficient methods of shipment based on knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.

• Verification & Documentation: Compare outgoing items against bills of lading, invoices, and orders to verify accuracy in count, weight, and measurements.

• Package Processing: Affix shipping labels, post weights, and calculate shipping charges/postage for packed cartons.

• Receiving & Inspection: Unpack incoming shipments, examine for damage, record shortages, and correspond with shippers to rectify any discrepancies.

• Inventory & Stocking: Maintain an inventory of shipping materials. Utilize hand trucks or tier-lift trucks to move and stock shipments from the receiving platform to the warehouse.

• Cross-Training: Act as a backup for inventory receiving and material handling positions as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 3 to 6 months of directly related training or experience in shipping, logistics, or warehousing.

• Technical Skills: Strong PC skills are required for digital tracking and shipping software.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

• Physical Stamina: Ability to regularly lift up to 30 lbs. While many tasks are performed at a desk, you must be able to operate an electric lift or picker (training and certification provided).

Work Environment

• Comfort: All duties are performed within a climate-controlled workstation or warehouse environment.

• Equipment: Must be comfortable using standard warehouse machinery (hand trucks, lifts) and office equipment.
