Our client in Cedar Rapids, IA is looking for a 2^nd Shift Painter/Powder Coater!

Position Summary: The Painter/Powder Coater is responsible for applying paint and powder coatings to metal workpieces to protect and enhance surface finishes. This role includes preparing materials, mixing coatings, selecting appropriate colors, and operating spray equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to follow specifications, and a commitment to quality and safety in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply paint and powder coatings using spray guns and production equipment
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and using solvents or other materials as needed
• Read and interpret job orders, work instructions, and processing charts
• Mix paints and select powder coat colors according to specifications
• Inspect finished products and retouch defective areas as needed
• Maintain and clean tools and equipment using solvents, brushes, and rags
• Rinse, drain, or wipe coated items to ensure proper finish setting
• Track and record required information per NADCAP specifications
• Maintain proper storage and handling of hazardous materials and byproducts
• Monitor inventory levels for paint and powder coating materials

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Previous painting or powder coating experience preferred
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
• Strong attention to detail and quality control
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
• Comfortable working with chemicals and wearing protective equipment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong observational and problem-solving skills

Hours:

• Monday – Friday
• 3pm – 11:30pm

Pay:

• $17–19/hour
