CNC Machinist Level 1

Position Summary:
Entry-level CNC machinist responsible for loading/unloading parts in 3–5 axis CNC mill and lathe machines to produce aerospace components. Works under direct supervision and performs basic inspections, deburring, and routine machine maintenance. Typically requires 0–2 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC machines by loading/unloading parts in various fixtures
• Perform in-process inspections using basic measuring tools
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
• Conduct basic deburring (edge breaking, surface blending)
• Monitor coolant/lubrication levels and perform minor maintenance
• Accurately track production using shop systems
• Follow all work instructions and quality standards

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Basic shop math (fractions, decimals)
• Familiarity with hand tools, inspection tools, and part handling
• Ability to read/write English and use basic computer/CNC controls
• Understanding of mechanical processes and safe equipment use

Experience & Education:

• 0–2 years of relevant experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED preferred
