Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I.
4 days 10-hour shifts

Monday-Thursday 6:00 am - 4:00 pm
Pay Rate: $30.50/hr.

 

 PURPOSE OF JOB
– The Maintenance Mechanic I repairs and maintains plant machinery, equipment, structures, tools and facilities as needed to meet production needs in a safe, reliable, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner. 

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform all tasks in a safe manner.  Be a role model and advocate for safety among co-workers
Perform all tasks in an environmentally responsible manner
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks as assigned
Perform general maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisor
Complete routine paper and/or computer work (work orders, work hours, parts, etc.)
Uses typical mechanic’s tools, equipment, and inspection gauges
Works from drawings, verbal instructions or sketches, and IFS work order systems
Uses shop math on a routine basis
Cleans debris and lubricant from parts, work area and equipment
Operates production equipment as required
Functions as mechanic’s helper when assigned to work with senior mechanics
Clean parts, tools and working area
Work overtime as needed
Work on-call as required.

 QUALIFICATIONS / COMPETENCIES

Education / Certifications:
– High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
– 3 – 5 years of general experience as a maintenance mechanic, preferably in a manufacturing setting
– Valid driver’s license

Job Skills:
– Gather and analyze information skillfully and with alternate solutions in mind when necessary
– Mechanical aptitude
– Understand purpose and function of basic mechanic tools (wrenches, screw drivers, pneumatic and power tools, pry bars, impact, pliers, etc…)
– Basic computer skills (entering work hours, work orders, parts usage, etc.)
– Forklift, man lift, and scissor lift experience preferred; not required

Ability:
– Comply with all corporate policies and the Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) while working.
– Strong attention to detail
– Possess an excellent safety record
– Consistently at work and on time.
– Meet schedules and deadlines on time
– Demonstrate the ability to adapt to changes in the work environment
– Ability to work varying shifts
– Ability to work on-call as required
