Are you a master of the manual machine? Express Employment Professionals of Metairie is seeking a highly skilled Manual Machinist for a premier industrial shop in Harvey. If you take pride in holding tight tolerances and have the expertise to build precision parts from scratch, we want to see your resume.

What You Will Do:

• Manual Operation: Expertly operate manual engine lathes and Bridgeport-style milling machines to cut, shape, and finish metal components.

• Precision Tolerance: Hold consistently tight tolerances (often within 0.001 inch) to ensure every part meets exact mechanical requirements.

• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret complex blueprints and mechanical drawings to build parts to specification.

• Quality Verification: Use precision measuring tools—including micrometers, calipers, and gauges—to verify all dimensions throughout the process.

• Setup & Tooling: Independently set up and adjust machines, select appropriate cutting tools, and secure workpieces for various applications.

• Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized workspace and adhere to all shop safety protocols.

What We Are Looking For:

• Experience: Proven history as a Manual Machinist in an industrial or mechanical repair environment.

• Technical Skills: Strong shop math skills and a deep understanding of industrial equipment and mechanical systems.

• Expertise: Proficiency with manual engine lathes and vertical mills (Bridgeport).

• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, bend, and reach throughout the shift in a shop environment.

• Reliability: Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
