Are you an expert at the "final touch"? Express Employment Professionals of Metairie is looking for a detail-oriented Grinder/Finisher to join a premier metal fabrication shop in Harahan. If you take pride in smoothing out the rough edges and preparing high-quality metal parts for their final finish, we want to talk to you!

What You Will Do:

• Precision Finishing: Use hand grinders, belt sanders, and flap wheels to grind and smooth welds to specification.

• Surface Prep: Remove slag, burrs, and sharp edges; prepare metal surfaces for professional powder coating or painting.

• Quality Control: Inspect finished welds and surfaces for defects or imperfections; use measuring tools to ensure parts meet shop drawings.

• Technical Interpretation: Read basic shop drawings or work orders to understand the required finish for each project.

• Maintenance & Safety: Maintain your grinding equipment and strictly follow all shop safety procedures and PPE requirements.

What We Are Looking For:

• Experience: Proven history in a metal fabrication or welding shop environment.

• Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using angle grinders, sanding discs, and polishing tools.

• Knowledge: Strong understanding of metal finishing techniques and surface preparation.

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for full shifts and handle the vibration/weight of grinding equipment.

• Compliance: Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
