Company & Job Overview:
Express Employment Professionals – Guelph is hiring on behalf of a local company in Puslinch for an experienced Welder Fitter. This is an evaluation hire opportunity with long-term potential for the right candidate. We are seeking a skilled professional with strong experience in custom steel fabrication to fit and weld large, custom-built components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Fit and weld large custom fabrications including tanks, drums, frames, and structural steel
• Perform Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) and other processes (GMAW/MIG, SMAW/Stick, GTAW/TIG)
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding specifications
• Lay out, prepare, and assemble workpieces
• Operate cutting, grinding, and bevelling tools
• Perform dimensional inspections using verniers, measuring tapes, micrometers, etc.
• Assist with heavy assembly and equipment testing
• Safely operate forklifts, hoists, and overhead cranes
• Follow all safety procedures and EHS standards
• Work independently and as part of a team

Requirements

• Valid CWB certification (FCAW and/or GMAW required)
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in custom steel fabrication and welding
• Strong ability to read blueprints and welding specifications
• Experience with structural steel and plate
• Proven experience with multiple weld positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead)
• Valid Forklift Certification
• Stainless steel welding experience
• Overhead crane certification (Asset)
• Red Seal Endorsement (Welder or Metal Fabricator - Asset)
