We are a compassionate and family-centered funeral home seeking a reliable, organized, and caring Front Office Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be the first person families see and the first voice they hear during one of the most difficult times in their lives. You will play a vital part in ensuring every family feels welcomed, supported, and cared for from the moment they walk through our doors or call our office.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet families and visitors as they arrive at our funeral home and guide them to the appropriate staff or service area
  • Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism and sensitivity; take messages and connect callers with the right team members
  • Design, format, and print service folders and memorial programs for funeral and memorial services
  • Submit obituaries to newspapers, and funeral home website
  • Monitor office supply inventory and place orders to keep the office fully stocked
  • Perform general administrative duties including filing, data entry, managing email correspondence, and other tasks as assigned
  • Communicate fluently in both English and Spanish to serve all members of our diverse community

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required, associate’s degree or higher a plus
  • 1–2 years of experience in a front office, receptionist, or customer service role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook) and general computer skills
  • Strong written communication skills, especially for composing and editing sensitive written content such as obituaries
  • Comfortable working with software tools to create printed materials
  • Warm, professional demeanor and the ability to remain calm and composed in an emotionally sensitive environment
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a funeral home, hospice, healthcare, or other care-centered environment
  • Familiarity with funeral home management or scheduling software
  • Experience with desktop publishing or designing printed materials
  • Understanding of cultural and religious customs within the local Spanish-speaking community
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish – both spoken and written

 

Work Environment

This is an on-site position at our funeral home facility. You will be working in a professional, quiet environment that requires sensitivity and respect at all times. Must be able to sit for extended periods, operate standard office equipment, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. when receiving supply deliveries.
