A lost wax investment casting foundry and CNC machine shop pouring steel and aluminum investment castings serving the Aerospace, Defense, Medical, Energy, Communication markets is seeking a CMM Programmer to join their team in Chatsworth. 

Summary: The CMM Programmer / Inspector will be responsible for programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), performing mechanical inspections, and supporting quality assurance processes. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to oversee inspection activities within the Quality Department, reporting directly to the Machine Shop Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Program and operate CMM equipment, including:
• Mitutoyo CRYSTA-Apex S 500 Series CNC CMM. (MCOSMOS software)
• Mitutoyo Manual CMM. (QC5000 software)
• Perform first article inspections (FAIR) in accordance with AS9100 standards.
• Conduct in-process and AQL inspections on raw castings and machined components.
• Utilize a variety of inspection tools, including: Comparator, Surface plate, Height gauges, Calipers, Dial bore gauges, Intramik, Profilometer.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection checklists.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
• Support and help manage daily operations of the Inspection / Quality Department.

Qualifications:

• Strong mechanical inspection experience. (required)
• Proficiency in CMM programming and operation. (PC-DMIS and/or MCOSMOS)
• Experience with QC5000 software. (preferred)
• Knowledge of AS9100 and First Article Inspection Reporting. (FAIR)
• Solid understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.
• Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 standards. (preferred)
• Strong mathematical skills for manual inspection and surface plate setups.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
