Shipping Manager | 6AM – 2:30PM | Monday – Friday | $60,000 - $65,000

 

 

A local box manufacturing company needs a Shipping Manager. This operation is part of one of the largest box manufacturers in the U.S. and serves a customer base that spans North America.

 

This is a direct hire position responsible for scheduling product shipments to customers and supervision of shipping activities.

 

Qualifications for Shipping Manager

• Previous experience in shipping and receiving management
• Experience in a packaging or manufacturing related industry is preferred
• Knowledge of inventory management, logistics, and shipping
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• A degree in logistics, supply chain management or related field would be a plus

 

Responsibilities for Shipping Manager

• Oversee shipping and receiving activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of shipments
• Oversee loading operations to ensure shipping specifications are met and loads are sealed
• Determine shipping schedules and weight limits based on final destination
• Inspect and ensure material handling equipment and shipping dock facilities are maintained to ensure safe operations
• Direct the movement of materials to and from the shipping area
• Prepare bills of lading and required shipping documentation
• Implement improvements aimed at maximizing operational efficiency
• Address customer concerns in a timely and satisfactory manner
