Machine Operator – Fabrication Shop (1st Shift)

Location: Sunnyvale, TX
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Overtime: As needed, including occasional Saturdays
Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join a fast-paced fabrication shop. This role is responsible for operating multiple machines that produce metal parts, maintaining material flow, and ensuring all products meet quality and specification standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on fabrication experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn and grow within the shop.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate two or more fabrication machines producing metal components
• Set up and run equipment to produce parts to exact specifications
• Read and accurately use measuring tools, including tape measures
• Perform basic steel inventory tracking and material handling
• Receive, store, and distribute parts and supplies as needed
• Safely lift and move materials up to 50 lbs
• Assist in other areas of the shop and cross-train as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of machine operating experience in a metal fabrication environment
• At least 2 years of press brake operation experience
• Experience operating punch presses
• Minimum 2 years of forklift experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Ability and willingness to cross-train and learn new processes
• Steel-toed boots required

Preferred (Plus) Skills

• Experience operating shears
• Blueprint reading and basic print interpretation
• Use of precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers
• Experience using grinders or other finishing tools
