Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to support accurate and timely processing of customer payments. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial accuracy, resolving discrepancies, and supporting overall accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Post and apply customer payments accurately within the ERP system
- Review incoming payments to verify accuracy, including discounts and terms
- Reconcile daily deposits, including paper check processing and bank scanner usage
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, maintaining proper documentation
- Code and process miscellaneous receipts as needed
- Maintain organized records by attaching payment backup and supporting documentation in the ERP system
- Assist with unapplied cash reconciliation in collaboration with senior accounting staff
- Review accounts receivable aging and support internal teams with collection follow-up
- Communicate professionally with internal departments and, when needed, customer accounts payable contacts
- Support additional accounting projects as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of experience in a high-volume accounts receivable role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation
- Proficiency with 10-key and Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with ERP systems and general accounting practices
- Experience working with bank scanners and payment processing is a plus
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
Education & Experience
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
