Job Summary:

Express Employment Professionals is hiring an experienced Machinist for a local manufacturing facility. In this role, you will operate manual and CNC machining equipment to produce precision metal components. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working from blueprints, using precision measuring instruments, and maintaining high-quality production standards in a machine shop environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, CAD/CAM files, and technical drawings

• Set up, operate, and maintain manual, automatic, and CNC machine tools

• Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools and workpieces for proper machining

• Monitor machine feed rates and speeds to ensure accurate production

• Perform machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling, shaping, and grinding

• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards

• Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding production or quality issues

• Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety procedures

• Perform additional duties as assigned

Skills & Experience Required:

• Experience operating manual and CNC machining equipment

• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings

• Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures

• Familiarity with CAD software, CorelDraw, or similar programs

• Experience with Epicor or similar ERP systems preferred

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment

• Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required

• Must be able to stand for the duration of an 8+ hour shift

• Frequent bending, reaching, and climbing step ladders

• Strong visual acuity and manual dexterity for operating machines and tools

• Work environment is a manufacturing shop where temperatures may fluctuate

Education & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Machining apprenticeship, technical training, or relevant machining experience required

• Ability to work independently while maintaining quality and safety standards
