Job Summary:

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Waterjet Operator for a local manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for preparing and operating a High Pressure Waterjet machine to produce high-quality metal components. The ideal candidate will have experience reading blueprints, using precision measuring tools, and working in a fast-paced production environment.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

• Operate high-pressure waterjet equipment to cut and process metal materials

• Load and unload materials and finished parts safely

• Set machine offsets, operate controls, deburr parts, and inspect products for quality

• Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances

• Monitor production to ensure quality standards and production rates are met

• Detect equipment malfunctions or machining issues and make adjustments within machine capabilities

• Communicate with management, quality teams, and other shop personnel regarding production or quality concerns

• Maintain a clean and organized workspace and perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment

• Communicate production updates and notes to incoming shifts or supervisors

• Follow all company safety procedures before and during operation

Skills & Experience Required:

• CAD programming experience required

• Waterjet experience preferred but not required

• Forklift experience required

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and geometric tolerances

• Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and scales

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Ability to work independently and follow direction in a team environment

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to safely move and handle large metal sheets and parts using proper equipment

• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs when required

• Must be able to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility during the shift

• Ability to safely navigate production and shop areas

Education & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Basic math skills required including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra

• Ability to work safely and maintain production standards with minimal supervision
