The System Manager ensures operational readiness, supervises operation and manages barge staff to safely and efficiently deploy our clients Emission Reduction as a Service (ERaaS) system.  In this role, the System Manager will oversee and direct the delivery of our client’s emissions reduction initiatives for maritime vessels.  The ideal candidate will have strong managerial and people skills, technical expertise, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges efficiently.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure our client’s Emission Reduction as a Service (ERaaS) systems are fully prepared for deployments
  • Protect proprietary information related to ERaaS and ensure that the systems are used properly
  • Monitor system performance, address alarms or anomalies, and take corrective action to maintain efficiency
  • Adjust system parameters to optimize performance in response to demand or environmental changes

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Technical engineering experience
  • Proven experience in system operations, maintenance, or technical management, particularly in maritime or emissions-related industries
  • Strong leadership, people management and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently to troubleshoot technical problems quickly and efficiently
  • Experience with managing schedules, consumables, and logistics for operations
  • Knowledge of emissions reduction technologies or similar mechanical/electrical systems is a plus
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related environmental or mechanical field, or equivalent related work experience
  • US or equivalent international maritime license as a Third Assistant Engineer or higher preferred
  • Physical Requirements:
    • This position requires the ability to perform the following tasks under typical working conditions, with or without reasonable accommodations:
      • Ascend and descend at least 10 flights of stairs while wearing personal protective equipment and carrying necessary equipment as part of job duties
      • Perform tasks at heights up to 120 feet, adhering to safety protocols and using fall protection equipment as required
      • Lift, carry, and maneuver items weighing up to 50 pounds for the purposes of equipment transport, setup, and maintenance
      • Work outdoors in various weather conditions and handle a range of maintenance tasks that may require physical dexterity and endurance
    • Required Licenses and Credentials:
      • Valid driver’s license
      • TWIC card, or apply for and receive a TWIC card within the first 30 days of employment
      • Boater Safety Card, or apply for and receive a card within the first 30 days of employment
