Our client in West Liberty, IA is looking for a Fabricator Welder!

Position Summary: Our client is seeking a skilled and dependable Fabricator with a strong focus on MIG welding to join their team. This role supports a full-service fabrication shop with over 50 years of experience, working on a wide variety of custom metal projects. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with multiple fabrication tools and welding techniques in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform MIG welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components
• Fabricate, assemble, and modify metal parts based on blueprints or job specifications
• Operate fabrication equipment including press brakes, iron workers, band saws, drill presses, and more
• Assist with cutting, bending, threading, and shaping metal materials
• Utilize layout tables and measuring tools to ensure accuracy and precision
• Support additional welding processes as needed (stick, TIG, or pulse MIG)
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Work collaboratively with team members to complete custom fabrication projects

Products & Project Scope:

• Structural steel and weldments
• Custom racks, carts, and dirt track packers
• Gas piping systems and stainless steel piping/tanks
• Dredging and manufacturing equipment
• Railings, stairs, mezzanines, balconies, and canopies
• Custom hitches and stainless steel furniture
• This role offers a variety of work — not repetitive production — giving you the opportunity to work on custom, hands-on fabrication projects.

Qualifications:

• Previous MIG welding and fabrication experience required
• Experience operating fabrication equipment (press brake, saws, etc.) preferred
• Ability to read blueprints and accurately measure materials
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic are critical
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physical shop environment
• Willingness to learn additional welding techniques and equipment

Hours:

• 8am – 5pm
• Monday – Friday

Pay:

• $18–$20/hour for the first 2 weeks
• Pay increase available after demonstrating strong attendance, performance, and work ethic
