CNC Machinist

Located in Edmonton, AB

Salary: $29/hour

An Edmonton client is seeking a CNC Machinist to join their team.

CNC Machinist Highlights:

· Operate lathes, mills, and other production equipment to machine rotary-shouldered connections per API Product Specification 7 and applicable work orders.

· Operate assigned machinery and equipment safely and efficiently without supervision.

· Perform tool proofing on first-run jobs and provide feedback to programming to ensure accuracy and run efficiency.

· Set controls for feed, speed, and depth of cut independently.

· Apply optimal part-holding techniques for precision machining.

· Measure manufactured components with tight tolerances using precision instruments (micrometers, vernier calipers, dial bore gauges, Gagemaker MRP system, etc.).

· Read and interpret blueprints and machine parts to exact specifications.

· Set tooling and apply offsets as required for various jobs.

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all company safety procedures.

· Report any nonconforming conditions to supervisory personnel.

Requirements:

· Journeyman Machinist certification is required.

· High school diploma or GED is required.

· Minimum 3–5 years of experience operating manual and CNC lathes and mills.

· 3+ years of experience using OD/ID calipers, steel rules, and other related hand tools.

· Experience working with API Rotary Shoulder Connections.

· Familiarity with Fanuc, Mazatrol, Fagor, and Siemens controls is an asset.

· Understanding of MSDS and safe material handling practices.

· Forklift and Overhead Crane certification is an asset.

· Experience handling long tubular materials (up to 31 ft) is an asset.

· Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and good communication skills.
