Machinist – Manual / Saw & Core

Express Employment Professionals – Akron is currently partnering with a well-established local manufacturer to find an experienced Machinist – Manual / Saw & Core. This is a hands-on role for a detail-oriented machinist who takes pride in precision work, quality, and safety. The ideal candidate will have experience operating manual and semi-automated machines to produce and repair custom precision parts.

Key Responsibilities

• Review samples, blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to determine job specifications
• Plan and perform the proper sequence of machining operations
• Measure, mark, and prepare raw materials for cutting and machining
• Perform sawing, drilling, counterboring, tapping, and related machining operations according to shop prints
• Inspect completed parts to ensure accuracy and conformance to specifications
• Identify defects or nonconformances and report issues to supervision as needed
• Maintain accurate records of approved and rejected parts
• Perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of machinist experience in a similar manual machining role
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
• Experience operating manual and semi-automated machining equipment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced shop environment
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with a sense of urgency and accountability
