Temp Material Handler

Pay: $21.00/hr

Position Overview

Express Employment is seeking a temporary Material Handler for a local manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for safely handling materials and chemicals, supporting environmental and quality processes, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a forklift to move materials throughout the facility

  • Handle and transport materials and/or chemicals as directed

  • Prepare materials and chemical shipments accurately and efficiently

  • Ensure all containers are properly labeled prior to shipment

  • Monitor water drains and inspect containers for leaks or irregularities

  • Replenish spill kits across the facility

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area using 5S principles

  • Assist with general warehouse duties, including loading/unloading and housekeeping

  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to resolve issues

  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment

  • Perform additional duties as needed to support operations

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of warehouse or inventory control experience preferred

  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Forklift experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs regularly

  • Capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing for extended periods

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures

  • Must be able to safely navigate confined spaces and uneven surfaces

Safety & Environmental Expectations

  • Follow all OSHA, state, and company safety regulations

  • Properly handle chemicals in accordance with safety data sheets (SDS) and PPE requirements

  • Support waste management practices and environmental initiatives

  • Report any safety or environmental concerns to supervisors promptly

Preferred

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
