Material Handler (Forklift Operator) – Metal Stamping Facility

Location: Springfield, OH
Pay: $16.00/hour
Schedule: 1st Shift – 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Job Overview

We are currently hiring an experienced Material Handler / Forklift Operator for a busy metal stamping facility. This role is essential to keeping production lines running efficiently by supplying materials, managing inventory, and supporting shipping and receiving operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong forklift experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supply production lines with materials using a sit-down forklift
• Load, unload, transport, and stack product containers
• Scan and move inventory throughout the facility
• Receive incoming product and verify accuracy
• Print and apply labels to materials and outgoing shipments
• Maintain organization of physical inventory and ERP system records
• Operate propane or electric-powered forklifts between dock, production, and shipping areas
• Assist with shipping and receiving activities
• Use overhead cranes as needed to move materials safely
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean workspace

Requirements

• Experienced sit-down forklift operator required
• Previous experience in material handling, shipping/receiving, or manufacturing environment
• Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes
• Experience with inventory systems and scanning (ERP preferred)
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or on a team

Physical Requirements

• Frequent bending, stooping, stretching, and prolonged standing
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs continuously throughout a 10-hour shift
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
• Normal vision and hearing range required
