About the Opportunity:Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking a Production Line Lead for a leading food manufacturing company in Missouri City, TX. This role is ideal for an experienced machine operator with strong leadership skills who is ready to take the next step into a supervisory position within a fast-paced production environment.
Position Summary:The Production Line Lead is responsible for overseeing daily line operations, ensuring safety, quality, and production goals are met. This role works closely with the production leadership team (“line trio”) to drive performance, minimize downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support production line operations to achieve Safety, Quality, Cost, and Productivity goals
Ensure all associates follow safety, food safety, and quality standards at all times
Coordinate team activities, provide training, coaching, and ongoing performance feedback
Monitor line performance, analyze production data, and identify opportunities for improvement and loss elimination
Oversee line startup, changeovers, and shutdown processes
Operate machinery and perform routine autonomous maintenance tasks
Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs and adjustments
Ensure all quality checks are completed accurately and on time
Maintain accurate production reports and documentation
Verify materials and supplies are available for production runs
Support implementation of standard work, 6S, and quick changeover processes
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events
Communicate effectively with leadership and team members to resolve issues and improve operations
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred
3–5 years of experience in food manufacturing or a similar production environment (pharmaceutical experience is a plus)
Prior experience as a machine operator required
Previous leadership or team lead experience strongly preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Experience with Microsoft Office and basic systems (SAP, QDMS, or similar)
LOTO certification preferred
Ability to read and understand English
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on concrete surfaces
Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Occasional ladder climbing
Additional Requirements:
Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed
Ability to work 12-hour shifts (4 days per week)
Must be reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented
