Production Planner

Located in Chicago, IL

Position Overview: We are currently seeking an experienced Production Planner to join a pipe company in the Midway area! You will be responsible for the entire production process, ensuring that products are manufactured efficiently and according to the production schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize resource
utilization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate the production process, including
engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and distribution.
• Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective
actions.
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of production materials.
• Collaborate with the sales team to accurately forecast future demand and adjust production plans
accordingly.
• Identify potential capacity bottlenecks in the production process and propose solutions to improve
productivity.
• Determine outsourcing requirements based on plant capacity and product lead times.
• Participate in regular production schedule meetings to understand plant performance and resolve
any schedule conflicts.
• Ensure accuracy of all production orders.
• Regularly assess the performance of the production process and implement changes as needed.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• APICS certification a plus
• Five years’ experience as a Production Planner or similar role
• Strong knowledge of MRP, production planning and supply chain principles
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet aggressive deadlines.
• MS Office proficiency
