Salary: 18.50/hr.

Are you hands-on, mechanically inclined, and enjoy working in a fast-paced industrial environment? A well-established hardwood manufacturing shop in Georgetown is seeking a Shop Assistant to support daily production and finishing operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys physical work, variety in their day, and learning directly from an experienced owner-operator.

If you have prior machine experience, aren’t afraid of lifting and moving materials, and take pride in keeping a shop running smoothly, we want to hear from you.

 

What We Offer

• $18.50 per hour
• Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Flexibility required for overtime and occasional weekends based on production demands
• Hands-on training and skill development
• Direct exposure to hardwood manufacturing processes
• Work closely with the owner in a small, team-oriented shop

 

Key Responsibilities

• Load and position wood on machinery for finishing processes
• Remove finished product from equipment and stack safely onto skids
• Prepare materials for shipping, including verifying labels and documentation
• Perform general shop cleanup and housekeeping to maintain a safe workspace
• Assist with daily shop tasks as needed
• Identify and troubleshoot basic machine or process issues

 

What We’re Looking For

• 1–2 years of experience in general labor or industrial environments
• Comfortable lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift
• Prior machine operation experience is a strong asset
• Strong attention to detail and mechanical awareness
• Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and take initiative
• Reliable transportation preferred (valid driver’s license is an asset)
• Clear communicator and dependable team player
