General Shop Helper

Salary: 18.50/hr.

Hardwood manufacturer in the Georgetown area is looking for a shop assistant to join their team on a temporary basis.  If you enjoy doing a variety of different tasks in a day, have  previous machine operation experience and can lift, push and pull up to 50lbs, we want to hear from you. 

 

What’s Offered:

• 18.50/hr. 
• Monday to Friday 9:00am to 6pm; however, does require flexibility to work overtime due to workflow
• Work directly with the owner and learn and develop your skills

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Set up wood on machinery for finishing
• Take finished product off machines and stack onto skids to prepare for shipping
• Housekeeping tasks around the facility
• Support the owner with other general tasks around the shop
• Troubleshoot any issues with the machinery
• Ensure all shipping labels are correct

 

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience working in a general labor role
• Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50lbs, comfortably
• Previous machine operation experience is an asset
• Demonstrates common sense and has the ability to learn new skills
• Valid driver license and access to a vehicle, daily is an asset
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
