Our client located in Carpentersville, IL is looking for a 1st Shift Punch Press Set-Up & Operator to join their team! In this role, you will be responsible for selecting and installing the appropriate punch and die, adjusting ram height, setting stroke length, and safely operating punch press machinery.

 

1st shift 6:00am - 2:30pm

Pay: 19-22/hr

 

In this position, you will:
• Operate and perform required set-ups on presses, including setting dies, adjusting stroke, greasing leader pins, and attaching/adjusting safety equipment
• Obtain first-piece inspection approval and monitor parts during production for dimensions, burrs, broken punches, cracking, buckling, or visible defects
• Work from drawings, shop orders, and samples to complete assigned operations
• Use a variety of measuring tools to ensure accuracy and quality
• Instruct operators on special job conditions or safety precautions
• Notify the supervisor when dies require sharpening or reconditioning, when parts present issues, or when equipment becomes inoperable
• Move materials, parts, dies, and containers using a hand truck; segregate and remove scrap
• Follow all prescribed safety practices and use required safety equipment

 

Requirements:

• 1–2 years of experience as a Punch Press Set-Up Operator or similar role, with strong print-reading skills and attention to detail
• Solid understanding of quality standards, measuring tools, and health & safety regulations
• Ability to perform accurate measurements and maintain consistent production quality
• High school diploma required; technical or engineering coursework is a plus

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods
