CNC Mill Machinist (Direct Hire)

Location: Central Lake County, IL
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Openings:

• 1 opening on 1st shift
• 1 opening on 2nd shift

Pay Range:
$20–$30 per hour, commensurate with experience

Shift Options:

• 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday
• 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 1:00 AM, Monday through Thursday

Job Summary

We are seeking skilled CNC Mill Machinists for a direct-hire opportunity with a well-established manufacturer located in central Lake County. This role is ideal for machinists with strong CNC milling experience who are comfortable with setup work and multiple control platforms.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling machines to produce precision parts per specifications
• Perform machine setups, including selection of speeds and feeds (preferred)
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and job travelers
• Make basic program edits at the machine as needed
• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure quality standards are met
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-secondary certificate in machining or manufacturing (preferred)
• Experience with OSP controllers (preferred)
• Some experience with FANUC controllers (preferred)
• Minimum 3 years of experience working with CNC mills
• 1 year of setup experience, including speeds and feeds (preferred)
• High School Diploma or GED required
