Position Overview: Carpenters play a vital role in project completion and quality control. They collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, architects, and clients to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. Success in this role is tied to craftsmanship, communication, and adherence to modern construction methods and safety regulation.

Key Responsibilities:

Construction & Installation

  • Interpret blueprints and construction plans to determine project requirements.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and smooth varying building materials.
  • Construct structural frameworks including walls, floors, rafters, partitions, and door frames.
  • Install doors, cabinets, stairs, windows, shelving, drywall, and insulation.
  • Build and install forms for concrete casting and other support structures.

Repair & Maintenance

  • Inspect, repair, or replace damaged structures and fixtures.
  • Assess quality of woodwork and materials to ensure durability.

On‑Site Problem Solving

  • Address unexpected construction challenges and adapt plans as needed.
  • Provide recommendations on material selection based on project needs.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, clients, and other trades.
  • Guide and mentor junior carpenters and laborers.

Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain a clean, organized worksite and ensure proper tool maintenance.
  • Follow OSHA regulations, building codes, and company safety practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, sketches, and technical documents.
  • Skilled in framing, finishing, and use of carpentry tools (manual & power).
  • Strong math, measurement, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and perform physically demanding work.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
