Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and fully functional school environment. This role performs routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of school facilities, equipment, and systems to support daily operations for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, classrooms, and school grounds

• Inspect and maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair needs

• Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime

• Repair doors, windows, flooring, and fixtures as needed

• Maintain outdoor areas including lawns, sidewalks, and parking lots

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes

• Monitor and maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies

• Assist with setup and breakdown for school events and activities

• Report major repair needs or safety concerns to supervisors

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required

• Previous maintenance, facilities, or building repair experience preferred

• Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry

• Ability to use hand and power tools safely

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

• No visible tattoos or nose rings due to school policy

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders

• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
