Personal Lines Customer Service Representative

(Insurance Agency $23-28/hour)

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is a key relationship partner between our agency, our clients, and our carrier partners. For many clients, you are the agency — the trusted professional they rely on to understand, select, and place the right insurance coverage.

This role blends service, insurance knowledge, and sales awareness. You’ll explain coverage, evaluate underwriting guidelines, support policy placement, and proactively identify opportunities to better protect our clients.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver exceptional client service by responding promptly and thoughtfully to client inquiries
  • Explain, select, and place personal lines insurance coverage based on client needs and carrier guidelines
  • Maintain accurate client files and process routine correspondence, including preparing policy documentation
  • Review individual client files prior to or at renewal to assess coverage and recommend changes as needed
  • Support account growth by identifying cross-sell opportunities in line with agency marketing plans
  • Collaborate with other agency team members to ensure a seamless client experience
  • Utilize the Agency Management System (training provided)
  • Work efficiently in Microsoft Word and Excel and navigate multiple carrier and vendor websites with accuracy

What We’re Looking For

  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • Knowledge of personal lines insurance (home, auto, umbrella, etc.)
  • 1+ year of customer service experience, preferably within a similar professional services environment
  • Strong communication skills — both verbal and written
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and organization
  • Sound judgment and the ability to assess coverage and underwriting considerations
  • Comfortable engaging clients, building rapport, and identifying additional coverage needs
