Our client, a global environmental services leader, is seeking a Water and Wastewater Operator to join a small team responsible for maintaining critical infrastructure that supports the local community.

About the Role

The Water and Wastewater Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the community’s water and wastewater treatment systems. Working as part of a small team, this role ensures the facility operates smoothly and remains compliant with environmental regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and operating water and wastewater treatment systems
  • Conducting daily inspections and system checks
  • Collecting water samples and performing routine laboratory tests
  • Making process adjustments to maintain regulatory compliance
  • Operating pumps, valves, filters, and chemical dosing equipment
  • Troubleshooting equipment and performing preventative maintenance
  • Recording operational data and maintaining plant logs
  • Supporting safe operations in accordance with environmental and safety regulations

The role is hands-on, requiring both operational knowledge and practical maintenance skills.

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • MECP Water or Wastewater Operator Certification (Level 1 or higher)
  • Minimum Grade 12 education
  • Valid Class G driver’s license
  • Ability to relocate to Moosonee, Ontario

Preferred

  • Level 2 Water and/or Wastewater certification
  • Experience operating municipal or industrial water/wastewater treatment plants
  • Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, millwright, or instrumentation skills
  • Experience with SCADA or automated process control systems

Work Schedule

  • 40-hour work week
  • Daily plant monitoring and inspections
  • Occasional weekend work or on-call support as required
