Our Scarborough client, one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, a leading manufacturer of custom design fine furniture, is looking for a Fabric Cutter to join their dynamic team!

Responsibilities:

·       Measure and cut upholstery fabric, vinyl, leather

·       Read and interpret work orders, pattern templates and technical drawings

·       Operate cutting tools and equipment including straight knives, rotary cutters, and fabric cutting tables

·       Inspect materials for defects to ensure quality products produced

·       Ensure proper fabric alignment, pattern matching, and grain direction

·       Label, bundle, and organize cut components for upholstery assembly

·       Perform routine equipment maintenance and report mechanical issues

·       Collaborate with Upholstery and Production departments to meet production goals

·       Maintain a clean and organized work area

·       Strict adherence to health and safety polices and guidelines

·       Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

·       2-3 years of experience in Fabric Cutting, Upholstery or Furniture Manufacturing

·       Skilled in operating cutting tools (straight knives, rotary cutters, fabric cutting tables)

·       Skilled in fabric estimating, and measuring

·       Skilled in working with and cutting commercial grade fabrics and upholstery materials (vinyl, leather)

·       Able to interpret pattern templates, and technical drawings

·       Lift up to 50lbs

·       Detail oriented, good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination

·       Comfortable with standing for long periods

·       Comfortable working in a noisy/dusty wood manufacturing environment

·       Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Compensation and Hours:

·       Monday to Thursday (7:25am to 4:25pm) / Friday (7:25am to 1:25pm)

·       Pay Rate: $20-22 per hour
