Our client, an established automotive manufacturing supplier, is currently seeking a Stamping Division Engineering Specialist to join their team.

This role is responsible for maintaining and supporting plant programs related to Transfer Presses, Blanking Presses, Hot Stamping Robotic Transfer Presses, 5-Axis Laser Cutting Cells, and the Real Time Monitoring System.

The Engineering Specialist will support equipment repair, manage new projects, and oversee equipment from design and procurement through installation and production, ensuring optimal production output, quality, and efficiency.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you will have ownership over stamping equipment and processes while driving continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance, safety, reliability, and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement corrective actions and improvements
  • Work closely with Engineering and Management teams to prioritize projects from research and development through design and manufacturing
  • Investigate and propose cost-effective equipment modifications to improve machine reliability, safety, product quality, and throughput
  • Write technical specifications for the procurement of equipment, tooling, and utilities
  • Lead the design, construction, acceptance testing, and installation of equipment and tooling
  • Define operating process parameters for equipment and tooling
  • Support development of maintenance documentation, including spare parts lists, preventative maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, and lockout procedures
  • Assist with prototype manufacturing and communicate lessons learned
  • Program stamping equipment for new dies and part setup for production

  • Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional technical team
  • Strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify potential process failures before they occur
  • Highly organized, methodical, and detail oriented
  • Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and controls in manufacturing environments
  • Solid understanding of materials and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tooling drawings, electrical schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams
  • PLC programming or troubleshooting experience considered an asset
  • Automation or robotics experience considered an asset
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills required
  • AutoCAD experience considered an asset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience

Physical Requirements

  • Standing for extended periods
  • Working around industrial machinery
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling as required
  • Occasional kneeling
