Our client in the automotive manufacturing sector is currently seeking a Welding Engineering Specialist to take ownership of their GMAW, spot welding, and projection welding systems across the production environment.

This is a hands-on engineering role ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, problem-solving, and driving real improvements on the shop floor while supporting advanced welding and robotic systems.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Own and support welding cell programs from design and procurement through installation and production
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, safety, efficiency, and equipment reliability
  • Troubleshoot welding and equipment issues and implement long-term corrective actions
  • Lead equipment and tooling design, installation, and acceptance testing
  • Define welding process parameters and support prototype builds and new product launches
  • Develop technical specifications and support maintenance documentation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Maintenance, and Management teams

Are You Qualified?

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Welding Engineering, Automation & Robotics, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of hands-on engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of GMAW, spot welding, and projection welding processes
  • Experience with robotic welding programming
  • Working knowledge of PLC or computer-controlled systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical/pneumatic schematics

Nice to Have

  • CAD experience (Inventor or AutoCAD)
  • Machine integration experience
  • Hands-on experience with MIG/stick welding and machine tools
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint)
