Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled General Maintenance Worker with HVAC experience to support the upkeep and efficient operation of a residential community and an affiliated thrift store. This role involves performing routine maintenance, basic repairs, preventative maintenance, and HVAC system support to help ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment for residents, staff, and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections of facilities, equipment, and HVAC systems to identify maintenance needs.
  • Complete general maintenance and repair tasks including minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliance repairs.
  • Inspect, maintain, and perform basic troubleshooting on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on building systems, including HVAC units and related components.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, HVAC service records, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure facilities and HVAC systems comply with safety standards, EPA guidelines, and building regulations.
  • Coordinate with vendors or licensed HVAC contractors when specialized repairs or servicing are required.
  • Assist with general upkeep such as replacing fixtures, repairing doors, maintaining lighting, and other facility improvements.
  • Support seasonal maintenance tasks, including HVAC system checks and filter replacements.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in facilities, property, or general maintenance with HVAC exposure preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and basic repair.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification (required or preferred, depending on your need).
  • HVAC certification or trade school training strongly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems, tools, and repair techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and perform physical tasks associated with maintenance work.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe work environment.
