Pay: 90 day temp to hire pay: $17/hr with raise once hired with client
Schedule: M-F 7A-4P + occasional overtime
Start or grow your career in the diesel industry with a respected commercial truck dealership. As a Pre Delivery Inspection Testing Technician, you will play a critical role in preparing new heavy‑duty trucks for delivery by performing inspections, minor diagnostics, and customer‑specific upfitting. This is a hands‑on, shop‑based position ideal for mechanically inclined individuals looking to build long‑term technical skills in a stable environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform Pre‑Delivery Inspections (PDI) on new heavy‑duty trucks
· Inspect and verify oil levels, fluids, gauges, warning systems, and overall vehicle condition
· Complete and accurately document all PDI checklists and required paperwork
· Perform minor diagnostics and report issues to the Production Supervisor
· Install and assist with aftermarket and customer‑requested equipment, including but not limited to:
o APU units
o Roof fairings
o Chain boxes
o Chrome and lighting accessories
o PTOs and hydraulic pumps
· Assist with general shop prep and truck setup
· Identify, tag, clean, box, and return warrantable parts per company procedures
· Communicate parts shortages, quality issues, or special instructions to supervisors and other shifts
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
· Follow all safety rules, company policies, and productivity standards
· Perform other duties as needed to support shop operations
What We’re Looking For
· Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools
· Experience in automotive, diesel, equipment, or maintenance work preferred (not required)
· Diesel tech school, lube tech, fleet maintenance, warehouse, or manufacturing experience a plus
· Ability to climb in and out of large trucks and perform physical shop work
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
· Reliable, team‑oriented, and willing to learn
Qualifications
· High School diploma or equivalent required
· Trade school or technical training preferred, but not required
· Ability to meet physical demands of a safety‑sensitive position
Physical & Work Environment
· Standing, walking, bending, climbing, crouching, and kneeling throughout the workday
· Lifting and carrying parts and tools of varying weights
· Exposure to temperature changes, moving machinery, and shop equipment
· Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
